It’s 5:01am, Springtime in the Northern Hemisphere, do you know where your children are?

The past half year has weighed very heavily on us here at PD headquarters, as we carry a substantial amount of loss and deep, deep grief. As we come out of the darkness, let us look ahead to brighter, welcoming of the sun, and plant new seeds for our future.
We’re still early in our journalism era, and we bring you a different curatorial side to modern art song. This song cycle can be used on loop. We’ve honored Jeff Sullivan’s memory of his celestial playlists, but move forward with our own style. For Spring 2025, let’s move with gentle support together, playfulness, and volcanic resolve. Electronic, rap, hip-hop, rock, country, house, folk, pop, this playlist is multi-genre, multi-faceted, and fascinatingly queer.

& 7. Dixon Dallas & ur pretty are personas of Jake Hill.
“Even if Dixon Dallas is just a character to market his gay country music, Jake Hill is certainly not queerbaiting in the ways artists have been accused of doing in past decades. The thirsty lyrics in Dallas' songs that get very specific about sexual acts are subversive in the notoriously conservative country music landscape. Some fans have noted that Hill likes to make use of parodies and memes in his music, suggesting the queer lyrics are simply being used to spoof and make fun of the toxic culture surrounding country music. Regardless of his own sexuality and intent, Hill's songs under the Dixon Dallas name are irrefutably gay and homoerotic, and they will definitely get a rise out of homophobic Americans.”
